Inside AI Supply Chains - Research Presentation

Inside AI Supply Chains is an upcoming hybrid research presentation by four students from Bard College’s MBA in Sustainability. The session will take place on August 21 from 1:00-2:00pm ET.

The in-person session will be held at the Abundant Intelligences Montreal lab [Concordia EV Building, 1515 St Catherine St W, room EV 11.645]. Coffee and pastries will be provided!

Bard’s MBA in Sustainability is a top global program that integrates sustainability, real-world consulting, organizational change, and entrepreneurship to prepare impactful leaders. A team of three MBA students will present a comprehensive overview of AI supply chains from a business perspective. The presentation covers key concepts and definitions, the anatomy of AI supply and value chains, and three critical perspectives: extraction and infrastructure; labor and manufacturing; and data, knowledge, and governance. Participants will engage with visuals, interactive polls, and discussions that highlight current challenges and innovative alternatives. The session aims to deepen understanding, reveal gaps, and offer actionable insights supported by curated resources.

Elaina Zachos is an MBA student at Bard College and a nonprofit consultant and researcher with 8 years of experience in science journalism, environmental fieldwork, and impact finance, focusing on nature-based, locally led solutions.

Emerson Sarmiento is an MBA student at Bard College with 25 years of experience in fintech, nonprofits, and impact measurement. He co-founded Parktivity, leading global playground projects centered on sustainability and community engagement.

Hanna Inman is a dual MS/MBA student at Bard College with experience in climate policy, equity frameworks, stakeholder engagement, and qualitative research across public and nonprofit sectors.

Thania Bejarano is an MBA student at Bard College and a program manager with 8+ years of experience leading equity-centered initiatives in environmental justice, outdoor education, and clean water access, with expertise in strategy, operations, and systems thinking.

Academic Advisor Shefali V. Mehta is an economist, statistician, professor, and founder of Open Rivers Consulting Associates, a strategy and implementation consulting firm, with leadership experience across private, public and NGO sectors, both within the US and globally.
