Welcome to the Abundant Intelligences’ Insights Blog

Whether you're already part of Abundant Intelligences, a curious visitor, or someone imagining alongside us, we’re so glad you're here.

Located at the intersection of Indigenous Knowledge systems and AI sciences and technologies, Abundant Intelligences is poised to reimagine, conceptualize, and design artificial intelligence (AI) grounded in Indigenous epistemologies. As an international, cross-cultural research project, we are entering our third year and embarking on the Imaginaries axis, a time for our members to generate future imaginaries of and speculative designs for Indigenous-centred AI. We are imagining futures where technological systems are in-relation with existing lifeways, rooted in abundance instead of scarcity, and capable of supporting the flourishing of future generations. We believe that these AI systems will benefit our communities and better serve everyone.

As our research network conceptualizes Indigenous AI in and with Pods (research clusters), communities, classrooms, and individually, we wanted to provide a collective space to publish insights, stories, and imaginings. This blog is a collective space to share insights, stories, and imaginings of Indigenous AI through the perspectives of our multi-disciplinary, international network. Members can be in conversation with one another, across distances, timezones, and disciplines, and invite each other into relation with their work.

The Abundant Intelligences’s network wants to hear your stories. You can submit a full essay or a few lines, a photo or a video, a question or a story to abint-datastorytelling@concordia.ca. Whether you are sharing project insights, updates from the field, sneak peeks into upcoming events, or speculations on the future of Indigenous AI — we hope you, members of Abundant Intelligences, see this as your space to contribute, connect, and imagine.

We invite you to post, read, share, and dream together.
